Alcohol.

YES. I thought I’d share some interesting facts and safe guidelines about consuming alcohol. Some of which we might already know and still remain oblivious about it.

Fact 1.
Alcohol is a depressant, not a stimulant.

Fact 2.
Alcohol is diuretic which causes your body to excrete more urine. Research has it that it may be worse to drink alcohol in a hot climate country for it increases the dehydration of your body. <–WOW

Fact 3.
Beer belly is not actually caused by ethanol itself but the calories we get from drinking beer. Some form beer belly even they are not regular drinkers.

Fact 4.
We are safe as long we don’t engage in binge drinking and keep our consumption to 3-4 units for men and 2-3 units for women. Moreover, binge drinking (a short period of indulging high percentage of alcohol ; e.g: new year’s eve) increases the risk of having alcohol related disease and BEER BELLY. In fact, we are encourage to drink at a recommended amount on a regular basis. DAMN. :) it helps with the health benefits of alcohol consumption!!

Fact 5.
Beer and wine were historically limited to the alcohol content of about 15%. Anymore than that, the yeast that helps in fermentation will cease.

Fact 6.
Alcohol actually shrinks your brain!!! Thats what causes the headaches during a hangover.

Fact 7.
The term “unit” is defined in UK as 10ml of pure alcohol. It is said on an average, our body (liver) can break down 10ml of alcohol within an hour. (PS: you can still drive after waiting a few hours from getting high!)

Fact 8.
AVB stands for alcohol by volume.

Fact 9.
You can calculate how many units you’ve drank by multiplying the % of the alcohol (in ml) with its AVB and diving it by 1000.

Fact 10.
Standard spirit sizes are 25ml (single shot) and 50ml (double shot). Though pubs are now starting to serve 35ml and 70ml.

Fact 11.
 Hangover in other languages.

  • The French call it ‘wood mouth’
  • Germans refer to it as ‘wailing of the cats’
  • Italians call it ‘out of tune’
  • Norwegians identify it as ‘carpenters in the head’
  • Spaniards call it ‘backlash’
  • Swedes refer to it as ‘pain in the hair roots’

Fact 12
Funny alcohol quotes.

  •  Yes, madam, I am drunk. But in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.
    Winston Churchill
  • There are better things in life than alcohol, but alcohol makes up for not having them.
    Terry Pratchett
  • Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
    Benjamin Franklin

Fact 13.

yes. We are talking about a drummer here. This post has been delayed, for some reason….

I was lazy to load my pics. Haha. My apologies!

So on this particular free night on 18th October at a convenient time at 8.00 p.m. inside a beautiful music studio, wisma Bentley in Megacourts… The world’s no. 1 fastest drummer decided to conduct a drum clinic. Boy oh boy was he magnificent! DAMN.

I’m not much of a musician but this is about as much as i can tell you.

* He’s married! :( Haha.
* Started learning drums at the age of four.
* That night, he mixed beats, from latin to heavy rock
* Hold the world’s record of 1,247 single strokes in one minute. SHIT
* OMG, i missed out the most IMPORTANT information of ALL! His name –> Mike Mangini. (:
* He’s like a real life cartoon character, such an entertainer!
* He plays drum beats based on binary numbers, DUDE!!

DO check him out. (: GOOGLE!

silent night(s)

•November 9, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Aaah, I’ve had a few. Most of my friends aren’t here to go spend the night with me. Lazy to come up with some plan too I suppose. So most nights are spent being on9, tv, books n other rubbish.

But anyway, I am starting to feel the christmas spirit!!! MMMmmm. Stores are beginning to be decorated with lights, BALLS and trees. Can you smell it yet? I am…obviously waiting for christmas sale! As much as I hate to admit it but i LOVE shopping. Even if i’m not gonna buy anything. Its like adrenaline for me. Ugh, it is a bit frustrating though, trying on everything but not being able to buy it ):

So…these silent night(s) got me thinking…

After watching much tv. (it can be useful if u watch the appropriate channel!) my brain started working, after months without input of education. Actually no, I learned alot from tv and books….*that’s why it got me thinking.
Hmph.

Here are few things that have been running in my head:

colonizing space, eating worms, sleeping inside a dead camel, marriage, sudden love, appearance of unknown creatures after Tsunami, earth, dreams, bagels, doughnuts, monash in Australia, living away from parents, regrets, fear of loneliness, supernatural stuff, chicken rice, dad’s way of thinking, bro’s SPM, remembering what’s it like to be kid, growing up – hate it or love it? money is everything, no? taking risks, roller coasters, facebook +_+ what’s the real deal with chain letters? how do u know when a blog is dead? accommodating people’s views, fashion! seeing particles in the air, can people really learn to love themselves? super freaking rich ppl that have their own customized birthday cake!!! Basically, LOTS of thinking.

Is this bad or good? :S

I just wonder sometimes, during a cup of of hot chocolate or while driving. We’re so TINY. Like a microbe to the Universe. How much responsibility can one TINY human hold? The earth is SO HUGE. There are still some things we don’t even know exists out there. Maybe everyone has a purpose here. I’m not into any religion so I still can’t say I 100% believe we have a reason here on planet earth. Back here in Malaysia, we’re talking about erasing racism, stabilizing the economy, un-corrupt the corrupted, improve education but else where they’re talking abt missions to mars, taking over another planet, creating another “earth”. Digging earth, discovering more and more. Damn are we that far behind? Are we missing out?

hmm, shld we not expand our thoughts to the bigger problems because its not our place to? But who’s to say what you should be thinking about and not. Just because you’re not that much of a role to the world, does that mean you shouldn’t be worrying if a meteor rock is approaching earth?

Some people dwell too much on SMALL things. Then again, that’s just called analyzing. From a big situation, you break it down, smaller and smaller and you go on and on finding a solution or a reason. Ah, but i called that a load of “drama”

So what if ur broke one day? Pick urself up and get a job. There’s so much more on earth we don’t know about. Well, some people might not be bothered at all…I probably wasted some of my time typing this post. Nevertheless, go watch some discovery channel, it might change ur mind and leave less drama in your current life (:
